   2001年に発表した『Look of Love』をなんと300万枚も売ったダイアナ・クラール。いまや、マドンナやエルヴィス・プレスリー並の大スター。にもかかわらず、相変わらず媚びたりしない硬派な姿勢は痛快だ。ストリングスが入ってもいわゆるジャズ・シンギングなのがうれしい。
   本盤はパリのオランピア劇場でのライヴ。基本はギター入りのピアノ・トリオで弾き語りだが、ここにはドラムやパーカッション、ヨーロッパ交響楽団も入った豪華なセット。しかし「VIVAラスヴェガス！」状態にはならない。彼女が敬愛するナット・キング・コールはピアノを捨て大スターになったが、ダイアナは捨てるどころかピアノの腕前はどんどん上がっている。ピアニストとしても超一流だ。彼女のピアノはもちろん、ギターやベース、ドラムスのアドリブもフィーチュアされ、ジャズ演奏の聴きごたえも十分。
   ラストに収録された「素顔のままで（Just the Way You Are）」のみスタジオ録音。こちらにはマイケル・ブレッカーのサックスがフィーチャーされている。（高木宏真）

趣味の問題でしょうが、私には彼女のスタジオ録音モノはちょっと「たるい」という感じですが、このライブはテンポも良く素晴らしいです。

ライブでの録音ですが大変良好な録音です。
ダイアナはもちろんバックもしっかり確かなメンバーで作り上げています。
良い作品です。
オーディオの好きな方是非コレクションの一枚としてどうでしょう。

タイトル通りパリでのライブを収録したアルバム。1曲目から自然なスイングと躍動感のある即興部を聞かせてくれる。ライブならではのリズム感と熱気を感じさせつつも、ゆったりリラックスしながら聞けるのが素晴らしい。きっとDiana Krall自身もリラックスしながら歌っているんでしょう（歌いながら笑っていたり、曲と曲の間に話す様子もリラックス感が漂っています）。彼女のハスキーな歌声にピアノとギターが絡まる構成には感銘をうけた。ギターの味わいが特によい。ヴォーカルもいいしバックの楽器もいいし、すばらしいのひとこと。
