ゼン(禅)マスターと呼ばれる助っ人や、水と米で生き、田畑を耕し、馬を育てるなど中世日本の要素を取り入れた戦略シミュレーションゲーム。陰と陽の2つの属性に分かれた部族がそれぞれ2つずつ登場し、陰の部族では敵の部族を倒すことでポイントが上がり、陽の部族では誇りを重んじることでポイントが上がるなど属性によってプレイスタイルが異なってくる。資源や水を確保し、田畑を耕したり、ユニットの生産や建物を建築するなどして自軍を発展させていく。また、農民は成長させることで様々な戦闘用ユニットに変化させることができる。陰陽の1つずつの部族のみプレイ可能で、それぞれ15のミッションを用意した「シングルプレイモード」と、4部族全てが使用でき、最大8人までネットで通信対戦が行える「マルチプレイモード」を用意。
