1000人以上のプレイヤーが同時に参加する3DタイプのファンタジーオンラインRPG『EverQuest 日本語版』の拡張パック。『EverQuest』は、自分の好みのキャラクターを作成し、オリジナル神話とファンタジー世界を舞台にした広大な世界で、ほかのプレーヤーと共に冒険しながら魔物と戦うゲームだ。戦う以外にも自分の店を開いたりできる自由度の高さや、美しいフル3Dグラフィックスでも定評がある。
本タイトルで拡張されるものの1つが、キャラクターの活動するフィールドマップ。これまでのフィールドであるノーラスの大地を照らす月「ラクリン」が冒険の舞台として追加され、数々の新たな難関が冒険者を待ち受ける。さらにこれまで要望の多かった、トラのような種族バー・シアーや、ペットを操る職業ビーストロードも加わり、プレイヤーの選択肢はこれまで以上に広がった。
このほかにも、キャラクターの個性を伸ばしてパワーアップさせる新システムや、プレイヤー同士でアイテムを売買するためのバザーゾーンなどを用意。エバークエストの魅力的な世界をさらに深く楽しみたいという人には見逃せない拡張パックとなっている。
なお、本タイトルをプレイするには、『エバークエスト日本語版トリロジー』または同社のサイトより無料でダウンロードできる『エバークエスト日本語版クラシック』がPCにインストールされている必要がある。（秋月昭彦）

「エバークエスト」日本語版用の拡張パック。新たな種族、職業、アイテム、地形を追加。衛星ラクリンの25もの新しい地形へ行くことができる。また、「バー・シアー」という種族や「ビーストロード」という職業を用意し、アイテムやキャラクターも追加。「ザ・シャドウ・オブ・ラクリン」を追加すると、馬に乗ることも可能。馬を購入し、魔法の笛を吹くことにより、呼び寄せる。乗馬中は早く走ることができ、馬に乗ったままでの戦闘も可能。
