まずジャケがやばいぐらいカッコよすぎる！ジョーヘンの煙草を吸う仕草を横から、
パシャッ、パシャッ、パシャッだが、このヒゲのラインといい、ヤニを満足そうにくわえる
顔とたまらんね！

内容はハード・バップ精神の熱さあり、ヴァイブとピアノをフィーチャーしたクールさも
あり、伸び伸び気持ちよさそうにプレイしてるかと思えば、クッと緊張を高める瞬間も
伝わってくる。一辺倒にならずに見事だ。

とりわけ僕が好きなのはタイトル・トラックの「モード・フォー・ジョー」だ。壮大な
アンサンブルから始まり、ジョーヘンの、もうこう何というかクネクネこねくりまわす
ように、こうよじって歪めて、こうやってこうみたいな（笑）ブロウが堪らなく凄いで
すね。さすがの技ありフラーのトロンボーンもすごけりゃ、曲を単調にしないハッチャーソン
とウォルトンの洗練されたスマートなプレイも絶妙の色を加えていて良い。まったく飽きない
ね。

ピリッとした辛さあり、はっとさせるセンスの良さもありと秀作ですよ！

いやぁ〜それにしても好きだわぁ〜このジャケ。
