トイズファクトリーを離れ、自らの主宰するPIZZA OF DEATHレーベルからの登場となった2年ぶりの新作。前作が『オリコン』誌チャート初登場4位、昨年の“AIR JAM”では3万人を動員……と、「この音楽性でもここまで売れるのか」と業界に相槌を打たせ、さらには“似て非なるもの”たちのその後の命運すらも大きく左右してしまった彼らだが、ここでのインディペンデント精神再確認は、音楽的な意味での足元確認にも繋がるものであるようだ。ここで聴かれるのは、元来彼らが持ち合わせていた特性のすべてにより強い説得力をもたせ、しかもより柔軟なしなやかさをもって束ねられた強烈な楽曲群。しかもドゥ・ワップやラテン調、ブラック・サバスのカヴァーまで飛び出す。もはやパンク云々とは関係なく、ポップでアッパーな良質のロック・アルバムとして“元気の源”にしたい。浮かれているようで地に足が着いている。そこが彼らの魅力なのだとこちらも再確認。 (増田勇一) --- 1999年07月号

１９９８年のAIR JAMで初めて聞いた「Stay Gold」に鳥肌が立った。
このアルバムを初めて聞いた時、涙が出そうになった。
メロコアの先駆者たちが鳴らす音は勇気と優しさに満ちていた。
今、郷愁にも似たような気持ちでしかハイスタを語れなくなってしまったのがものすごくせつない。もうきっと、あの頃と同じハイスタを聞く事もきっとないだろう。

まだハイスタを聞いた事ない人達、是非聞いてほしいです。きっと好きになると思いますよ。私に音楽を聞く事、音を奏でる事の素晴らしさを気づかせてくれたバンドであり、アルバムです。

ハイスタにはブームの時期があったらしいんですが、
その当時は（１９９９年くらい？）ハイスタのこと、
存在すら知りませんでした。

後追いすること３年。
友達に勧められて初めて聞きました。
最初聞いたときは、ギターの音がきれいだなー
くらいしか感想なかったのに・・・
これだ、というきっかけもないのに、
いまやどっぷりはまってます。
中毒性の強い音楽なんでしょうね。

音楽的予備知識なんていっさいいりません。
まだ聞いたことのない人気軽に聞いてみてください。
内臓で感じてください。

最後に。
ハイスタそのうち活動再開するやも、
ですのでそれまでに、なるべくたくさんの人に
このアルバム聞いてほしいです。

朝、目覚めの一発にこれかけると最高！！

日本のメロコアを確立した先駆者、
素直な歌詞とエネルギッシュなメロディが
やっぱりハイスタの醍醐味じゃないでしょうか。

アルバム前々作『Growing-up』、前作『ANGRY-FIST』を経て今作至るまで、
徐々に音に幅がでてきて、完成度の高い作品に仕上がっています。
もちろん初期の作品も荒削りだけど、レベルが高く、
その勢いがまたいい味を出しているのですが・・・。

この作品を足がかりに、謎のJ-punkばかりじゃなく、
FAT（レーベル）（NOFX、ragwagon、Millencolin等）の作品に挑戦してみるのも良いと思いますよ。
