著者がイギリス留学時代に出会ったアロマテラピー・・・結婚、出産、そして夢をかなえた女性の傍らには、いつもエッセンシャルオイルの小瓶があったのでしょう。留学時代の猛勉強の様子や、イギリスで出会った人々によって、著者が成長してゆく部分は、読み物としても面白いですが、もちろん、アロマのレシピも紹介されています。また、後半は、ご自身のサロンでの経験にもとづいた症例別のレシピ。シンプルだけど、もっともっとアロマのことを知りたくなるような一冊です。

単身渡英し、アロマテラピーの世界へ飛び込み、言葉も通じず、自信を喪失するが、見事に目標を達成する筆者。彼女のアロマテラピーに対する強く、美しい情熱に感動する。行き詰まった時に自分自身を勇気づけるために繰り返し読める書。

「生活の木」で目にとまった「マミ・レヴィのアロマテラピー」を購入。
アロマテラピーの実用書はたくさん読んだけれど、アロマセラピストがセラピストになるまでの人生を書いた本はなかなかないので。

エステを学んでいた若き日のマミさんが、きれいの道を究めるために渡英、言葉もわからないところからスタートして、アロマに出会い、妊娠、出産を経験しながら目標に近づいていくステップが、すごい読み応えです。
アロマテラピーは癒やしの手段ですが、それがどんなことであれ道を究めるということは、ある意味で命がけのことなんだなあ、と感じさせてくれる１冊。
