最初のシャブリエを聴いた瞬間、あ、こりゃいいと思った。確かにもっと巧くてシャレた演奏はあるが、上り坂の勢いみたいなものが佐渡とオケにあり、一身同体になっていい音楽をしようとしているのがよく分かる。「ボレロ」はスコアをいじってるようだ。

佐渡裕は日本人では数少ない、否、おそらくは唯一のラテン的気質の指揮者と言えるかもしれない。彼の指揮は演奏者も聴衆も、そして自らも熱くする。今時、見て聴いてワクワクさせて楽しませてくれる指揮者など、そうざらにはいまい。今回のラムルーとのアルバムはそうした彼の“活きの良さ”と勢いを痛感させるものだ。まずオケの鳴りが違う。かつてのラムルーの面影はここにはない。リズムの強力な牽引力といい、ダイナミズムの力強さといい、何かふっ切れたような思い切りの良さやポジティヴなノリが全面に出ている。シャブリエの狂詩曲「スペイン」や歌劇「グヴァンドリーヌ」序曲、そして「気まぐれなブーレ」など、“してやったり”と思わせる痛快な演奏である。そして「ボレロ」。ど迫力でせまるかと思いきや、ちょっと手綱をゆるめオケに身をまかせたように聴こえる。“この曲は僕たちのものだ”といわんばかりの自然さと開放感にあふれた味わい深さがある。 (斎藤弘美) --- 1999年07月号

佐渡裕大爆発といったところ。
ノリノリで聴いてしまいました。シャブリエの「スペイン」は、ちょっとこれ以上のものは望めないと思います。
実際、もっと上手な演奏はいくらでもあると思います。しかし、もっと「いい演奏」となると。

だって、スピーカーを通してライヴ感が伝わってくるんですよ。佐渡裕の息遣いも彼の動きにそのままシンクロするラムルーの音も、届くんです。
ちょっとないですよ、これだけ熱い演奏は。

ちなみに「VIVA!バーンスタイン」もめちゃめちゃおすすめです。

この佐渡版ボレロの売りはなんといっても躍動感。 バーンスタイン最後の愛弟子が、わくわくするような ボレロを聞かせてくれます。

シャブリエのスペインを聴いて！爽快です。躍動感がすばらしい。気持ちいい~~~！この一曲を聴くだけでも、このＣＤを買う価値があります。録音も最高。これ以上のスペインは聴いたことがない。買うべし。
