仕事で技術系ドキュメントのデザインに携わることになり、参考にと購入。
取り上げられている内容は、プロダクトデザインとそれにかかわる周辺知識全般で、本書があればプロダクトデザインとは何たるかの概観を知ることができる。また、さすがプロダクトデザインの解説書を謳うだけあって、画面構成が一望して見やすく、図表も簡潔にして要領を得ている。
ただし、内容が広範な反面、それぞれの項目に関しては深く掘り下げられているわけではない。広く浅く、といった感じだ。より実践的なプロセスをとるには、本書をガイド役に詳細を他の専門書籍やインターネット等であたることになるだろう。
プロダクトデザインを俯瞰的に見るための一冊である。
