　夢のように美しいイギリスの片田舎で、８歳と１２歳の少女が撮った２枚の写真には、彼女らと一緒に妖精の姿が映っていました。

　その写真はやがて、かのアーサーコナンドイルの手に渡り、ロンドン中に知れ渡る事になります。鑑定士もコダック社も写真にトリックのあとを見つけられませんでした。

　その写真の真偽を確かめるべく新聞記者が動き出しますが…

　この映画をみて、イギリス人にとっていかに妖精が身近な存在なのか解った気がします。
　少女の問いに答えた天才奇術師フーディーニの言葉がこの真実の全てなのではないでしょうか？
　抑えられた特殊効果が美しい妖精達の姿を際だたせて、素晴らしい存在感で私の心に印象づけてくれました。

　大人から子供まで楽しめる、優しく心温まる物語です。

果たして「妖精」の写真は本物か？
やっぱり半信半疑だし、途中で意地悪な見方もしたくなるんだけど、
実はそんな事はどうでも良いって事にやがて気がつける。
事実よりもトリックがどうこうなんかより、
何よりも妖精を信じる「心」が、傷付いた気持ちを癒してくれるし希望を持たせてくれるのだ。

ラストの少女のセリフは、私も一緒につぶやいた。
