個人的に期待通り或いはそれ以上の出来だった。デスヴォイスが皆無みたいに言われてたから少し心配だったんだが…何だ、デスヴォイスもかなり入ってんじゃんw確かに前作に比べるとデス声単独で目立つパートは少ないが「要素」としてクリーンで歌うパートで調和という形でデス声と上手く融合している。内容の方だがフュージョン要素を強め、もうとことん究極の美音を追求したということがまず聴いてて伝わってくる。神秘的で非常に煌びやかな音が今作は強調されもうデス声がどうのこうのというレベルではない。逆に「何でこんな美しい音にデス声が重なってんだぁ？？」と更に変態性というか不思議さが増し、より考えながら楽しんで聴くことが出来る作品になったと思う。サウンドは音の分離が前作よりはっきりしドラムやギターの歯切れが一段と鋭くなった。

自分が聴いてて感じるイメージとしては光輝く氷壁の世界にいるような気分である（まあアートワークがそんな感じだけど（笑）少し寒気すら感じる。
元々デスメタルなのか違うのか、あやふやで非常にジャンル分けに困るバンドなのでデスパートが目立たなくなったからといって決して退化したという印象は受けなかった。このアルバムは聴き込めば更に良くなりそうだ！前作と全く引けを取らないということにしておこう。

個人的にアルバムが短く感じたので、次作では大曲志向を期待！

奇跡のCynic再結成、そして15年振りの新作の発表…全ての歯車が噛み合った瞬間、我々は歴史的名盤の誕生を目にする事となった...。

この作品に言葉はもう必要無い気がする…極限の美しさを奏でるギター、儚くも心に響く歌声、変則的ながらも自然と曲に調和するドラムス、ボトムを支えるだけでは無いツボを押さえたベース…奇跡の音世界が此処にある。

Cynicにしか無し得ないCynicだけの音が一切の無駄無く展開されて行く...。
「Focus」にあったデスメタル的な俗っぽさは皆無となり、ひたすら胸を締め付ける珠玉の旋律が聴き手の心を揺さぶり続ける...。

Cynicを体験した事の無い方、躊躇う事は有りません。
この作品で音楽の本当の力を再認識するでしょう。

我々が待ち続けた至高の音楽集団Cynicは15年の長い時を経て、今此処に帰って来た...。
そして我々は今、歴史的名盤の誕生を目にしたのです...。

1993年以来、15年もの年月が経ちますが今でも大好きなアルバムFOCUS。
その後リマスター版がリリースされ、その中のボーナス新曲には困惑する人も多かったのではないでしょうか。
しかし、ここにきてニューアルバムの発売です。これは奇跡だ。
そしてまた奇跡のような曲が聞けるのかと思うと、待ちきれないです。
先に新曲の3曲ほどはデモで聴きました。
さらに美しさ、物悲しさにも磨きがかかり、（AEON SPOKEの時にも劣らない)
そしてAEONでは出来なかった激しさ、Sean Reinertの凄すぎるドラミング、
ふわふわしたボーカルに、デスボイスもあります。
しかしデスメタルがメジャーになった今、これは紛れもなく、
信じられない程の美しさを放つプログレメタルでしょう。
そこにあるのは紛れもなく、誰でもない、他には存在しない音楽、
CYNICです。
ちなみに私は2枚予約しました。

あと1ヶ月ほど・・・デモを聞いて期待に胸を膨らませて待つことにしましょう。
ありがとうＣＹＮＩＣ！！
誰がなんと言おうと、私には世界で1番のバンドです。
