1980年代に放映された人気アニメ「超時空要塞マクロス」を題材にした、シューティングゲームスタイルのタイピングソフト。前作『超時空要塞マクロス 愛打~タイピング・バルキリー~』より3Dグラフィックの画像品質を向上させ、難易度も高く設定。データ連動機能搭載で、前作をクリアしている場合は武装を強化した「アーマードバルキリー」や「フォッカー機」などの特殊機体が使用可能となる。
また、コース選択により変化するステージ構成や、全体が見える分操縦しやすい「ターゲットビュー」と、より迫力あるバトルを楽しめる「コックピットビュー」のどちらかに視点を切り替えられるなど、ゲームとしての機能も充実。飽きることなくタイピングの練習ができるようになっている。
劇場公開された「劇場版 超時空要塞マクロス」の本編ムービーが多数収録され、ストーリーを追いながらタイピングの練習ができる。ステージクリア後はムービーのみを見ることも可能だ。敵機の詳細データなどマクロスファン向けの隠しデータも用意されている。（三井貴美子）
