航空管制官となったプレイヤーが航空機と直接交信し、安全に飛行機を空港に離発着させる航空管制シミュレーションゲーム。同シリーズには成田空港や羽田、鹿児島の離島の空港などを舞台にしたものがあるが、本タイトルは航空自衛隊小牧基地が併設された官民共用の名古屋空港を活躍の場としてピックアップしている。
名古屋空港は、国内線大型旅客機や航空自衛隊機のほか、国際線旅客機、小型自家用機、新聞社のヘリコプターなどが飛び交う、なかなかに刺激的な空港だ。航空各社および航空自衛隊が制作に協力しており、航空機の機体や離発着シーンを美しい3Dグラフィックスで再現しているのが素晴らしい。操作方法は難しくなく、マウスによる簡単な操作で管制機に指示を出すことが可能。航空管制官の仕事を体験してみたい人や、飛行機の飛ぶ姿が好きだという人にぴったりのゲームだ。
なお、同社のサイトでは「ぼくは航空管制官2」専用のグラフィックキャプチャソフト「飛行機撮れルンです！」を無料配布している。このソフトをインストールすれば、ゲーム内に登場する飛行機や空港の映像を、管制塔視点はもちろん、空撮視点、滑走路端視点、送迎デッキ視点で「撮影」することが可能になる。お気に入りの格好いいシーンを集めて、自分だけのデジタルアルバムを作成するのもおもしろい楽しみ方の1つだろう。（秋月昭彦）
