この本にはいくつか欠点があります。それを踏まえた上で練習すれば、半年後にはあなたも初心者卒業です。みなさん、がんばりましょう！

・テンポ指定が速すぎます。こんなテンポじゃ弾けません（笑）。まずは指定テンポの３割くらい、ごくゆっくりのテンポで練習を始めます。最終的には指定の７~８割のテンポで弾ければブラヴォ~です。

・この曲集は右手の練習課題の比重が高く、左手の練習がおろそかになりがちです。ときどき左右の手を入れ替えて練習してみましょう。むずかしい？あわてず落ち着いて、ゆっくりテンポが大事です。
・１５番はこの曲集では突出して難しいです。すぐに弾けなくても大丈夫です。

・バッハのやさしい曲集を併用すると、バランスが良いと思います。この曲集の真ん中以降になったら、インヴェンションに取り組んでみましょう。

このエチュードは、先生について指導を受けた方は必ず・・という位家にあると思います。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　曲集の特徴としては　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　・調性が平易である　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　・圧倒的に右手の練習が多い　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　・テクニックのみの練習に終始する場合が多い・・・等が挙げられるでしょう。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　大人が趣味として楽しくピアノを弾く場合は、必ずしも必要な曲集ではないような気がします。しかし、真剣にピアノの道を歩む場合には、使用頻度はかなり高いといえます。ただ、音楽的な深さを感じられないので、音楽的な質の良い作品を併用することが大切です。また、ツェルニー自らが指定したテンポが、かなり速いのは、現代のピアノとの相違があるためです。ですから、指定のテンポにこだわりすぎる必要はないと言えます。

この練習曲は多くのピアノ学習者が通る長く遠い道のりの第一歩です。たいていの人はこの曲の後４０番、５０番へと進んでいきます。ただ、この練習曲はあくまでピアノを弾く上で習得する必要がある技術を会得するためのものであり、曲としてのおもしろみはありません。
また、学習者が正しく曲の意図を理解している必要があるため、人によっては何の意味もなく終わってしまう必要があります。
そもそもこれは技術習得のための練習曲であって、曲を表現するという音楽に欠かせない部分が習得できません。なので、趣味でピアノを楽しみたいという人にはあまり必要がないと思います（高度な曲を演奏したいという方は別ですが）
しかし、この練習曲を正しく身に着ければ、演奏する上での基本的な技術がしっかり習得できますから、やって損はないと思います。
ただ、この曲だけをやるのは危険だと思うので、何か他の（表現力が求められる）曲を平行してやる必要があると思います。
