目に鮮やかな彩りの花々、大木の森、緑濃い牧場、夕日等、人の気配を感じない広々とした土地。
そして古くみえるけれど、（実は新しく、）暖かそうな素朴な屋敷。
ファンタジーの世界にしか存在しないような風景をページを繰るごとに楽しめます。

ターシャはどのページでもちょっと固い、生真面目そうな表情で登場します。
この固さが本作の作為のなさを感じさせます。

四季の移り変わりもしっかり捉えています。
その美しい風景には犬や家畜、子どもたちもほのぼのとした風情で登場します。
更に生活の場面も、ちらほらと紹介されています。
テーブル、バケツといったアンティークな家財やスローな食材の数々も登場します。
私は風景よりむしろ、生活の一部分を写したページに惹き付けられました。
本作を眺めるうちに、風景だけでなくターシャの生き方まで想像してしまいます。
この写真集が素晴らしいのは、こういう想像の翼を羽ばたかせることのできる広がりです。

この写真集はターシャの庭だけでなく、ターシャの生活を切り取った作品だと思います。
私はこのターシャの生活まで見える本作の構成が好きです。
値段もお高いのですが、お勧めの一冊です。

この本は、ターシャ自身の言葉でひとつひとつの写真を説明しています。
綴られている文章は短いのですが、ターシャが、庭やお気に入りの花々、一緒に暮らす動物たち、そして日々の暮らしをどう思っているかがよく分かります。
まるで現実にターシャが隣で、自慢の庭を紹介してくれているようです。
飾らないターシャ自身の言葉と、庭を愛する姿が心に残る、とても温かい本です。

ターシャさんは、私にとってマザーテレサさんのような存在です。

この本は、まず表紙に、ターシャさん自筆のお庭の地図があります。
その次に、ターシャさんが描いたとても穏やかな優しい絵があります。
そしてそこから、ターシャさんの広大なお庭の写真が温かい文章とともに、たっぷりと紹介されています。

目に飛び込んでくるのは、鮮やかな色とりどりのお花たち、可愛い動物たち、そして、ターシャさんのどこか懐かしさを感じられるお姿です。
本当に心から癒されます。
自然の美しさ、尊さを教えてくださいます。

「本来、人間はこのような生き方をするべきよ。」というターシャさんの声が聞こえてきそうな気がしました。

私にとって、一生大切にしたい、優しく愛にあふれた母のような本でした。
