楽しいし美しいしかわいいしバカみたいで大変使える音楽。The Words、 湘南アシッド かけてましたら、母(60後半代)が「ああ素敵だね〜誰ね?」とご機嫌で琉舞風な型をアレンジしてちょいと踊り出しましたよ(笑)で「電気グルーヴ」と教えました。
J-POPは子供が踊ってましたし。これらの開かれた電気グルーヴの盤はあれですよ。津々浦々日本人の新たな盆踊りとしてあるいは鎮魂歌としてゴスっペル音頭として浮き世の旅のお供としてお茶うけとして、、とにかく知恵くらべです。楽しき幻の人生を送るべく。

かつて電気グルーヴは「オレンジ」という迷作を出したが（個人的には好きだった）、
今作のタイトルは「YELLOW」。と、いうことは久々にはっちゃけたアルバムなのかな？と
思ったが実際そうではなかった。なんでもジャケットが黄色だからこのタイトルらしい。なんじゃそりゃ。
てかあの国民的マスコットに似てるような。

前作「J-POP」で切り開いた無機質なテクノをもう少しポップにした感じ。
というのは自分が感じたことなので人によっては前作と変わらない印象を持つかもしれない。
適度におちゃめ要素が入っているが、あくまでスパイス的なもので
表面上は圧倒的にクールなアルバムである。
完全に「J-POP」の延長線上の作品なので、これなら半年で届くのも納得という感じ。
だって前作とほぼ同じスタイルだし。　前作がイマイチだった人は考慮したほうが良い。

一曲一曲が数珠つなぎになっている印象も受ける。
出来うる限り曲の流れをスムーズにした今作はダンスミュージックの要素もあるけど
それ以上に部屋の中で落ち着いて聴くのにふさわしいと思う。
「さんぷんまるのうた」「どんだけtheジャイアント」のコミカルな歌詞なのにそれを感じさせない無機質な歌や
「Area Arena」「No.3」の静かに盛り上がる感じとか非常に心地良い。
刺激という面では正直物足りないが、熟成された大人のテクノはこれはこれで独特のエッセンスがあるな、とは感じた。
これはこれで傑作かと。

そろそろド真ん中の歌モノも欲しい気がするが、時期ではないのだろうか。
それまで「J-POP」とこの「YELLOW」のゆりかごで揺られるような気持ちいい感触と無機質な音との融合を楽しむことにする。

昔と比べること自体もう意味がないかなと感じる最近の作品。電気は完全に完成形でしょう。言ってしまえばｃapsuleとかはまだまだこれからかなという音に感じます。それだけ期待もありますけどね。エレクトロポップな電気、大好きです。ぶっ飛んだ電気はライブで楽しむのがベストかな。
