茅木真知子さんの本で服をつくったのは、初めてです。
シャツづくりは、これで３度目でしたが、
もっとも縫製がしっかりしていました。

前立ては別裁ちで身頃の上に載せる。
袖や身頃を縫い合わせる際に折伏せ縫いをする。
そのため、手間はかかりましたが、
市販品よりずっと丈夫に仕上がりました。

形は、ヨークつき、ダーツなしの
カジュアル、シンプルなタイプ。
袖丈が長めで、大柄（身長170cm）な私でもぴったり。
シルエットは、ボーイズライク。ブカ過ぎずキツ過ぎずです。
仕上がりに、想像以上に満足しています。

ただし、手順の説明は、絵つきですが、やや簡単です。
まったくの初心者には分かりづらいかもしれません。

今までの茅木さんの本を全て持っています。
茅木さんの本は大好きです。
でも正直言って今回の本は、目新しさがないです。
それが茅木さんの良い所なのかも知れませんが・・・。

本の形態は、今まで茅木さんが文化出版局から出された本と
同じ、イラスト入りの解説付きです。
高度な技術を要する難しいものは載っていません。
茅木さんの本をたくさんお持ちの方にとっては
「あら？このワンピースに似ているの、他の茅木さんの本に
載っていたような？」
「このジャケット見たことあるなあ」
という感想が出てしまうかもしれません。

茅木さんのエッセイ風のお話や、経営されているお店のことなどが
書いてありますのでファンの方には楽しめると思います。

この手の本は型が古くてダサいと思っておりましたが、この本は、流行はあまり意識してないけれど、かと言ってベーシック過ぎず、幅広い方にＯＫなデザインだと思いました。
シンプルだけれどコットン、リネンの生地の風合いが素敵に映えるデザインです。
いろいろな生地で楽しめそうなので、どんな生地で作ろうかなぁ〜と生地選びが楽しくなりそうです。
　
でも裁縫が超初心者の私には、作り方の手順がかなり大雑把なので、（ポイントはちんと図解で細かく説明がありますが）ソーイングの基礎の本が必要です。とは言え、私が言うのも何ですが、全体的にはそれほど難しそうではないので、簡単なゴムのパンツ（ぺチコートパンツにもよさそう？）やワンピースから作っていけば、コートなどもチャレンジできそうかな・・？！と思います。　
流行の服も大好きな私ですが、どれも何年もずっと着れそうなデザインなので、早速何点か作りたいと思います。
