ジャケットのイメージとは裏腹に、内容そのものは実に充実したアルバムである。初期のヒット曲である2のみならず、3や6の大作は隠れた名曲かもしれない。抑揚を抑えたバイオリンの旋律のみならず、これと調和するキーボードの美しさは思わずキャメルのムーンマッドネスを思い出してしまうほど。初期の彼らが本国より英国で受けが良かったというエピソードにもうなずくものがある。その後にブレイクする彼らの秘めたる才能が、雪に埋もれた新芽のように少しずつ頭をもたげる様がこのアルバムでは感じ取ることができる。

６曲で45分。長い曲が目立つ。長い曲では特に顕著であるが、全ての曲で劇的な曲展開が繰り広げられる。人によっては大袈裟すぎると感じるかもしれない。複雑な曲構成の中に、アメリカが持つ大陸的な優しさが感じられる。メタリックな曲が１曲ある以外は、全編シンフォニックな仕上がりになっている。
