K2スーパー・コーディングにより20bitさながらの音の良さで記録されており、音楽ファンの耳にこそ知って頂きたい演奏が刻まれています。

13年ぶりのSalt&Sugar始動に合わせ、スタジオアルバムと同時に発売された、彼らの演奏技術を堪能できる素晴らしいライヴ作品です。
そもそもデビュー作品がいきなりライヴアルバムだったという恐るべき熟練の二人。今作では更に深く艶を増した琥珀色の音色が紡がれています。

先ず素晴らしいのは佐藤竹善というヴォーカリストの喉が全く落ちていないことです。13年前の音となんら変わらないのですから！
卓越した音感、リズム感も健在で安心して身を委ねられる恍惚の音色を奏でます。本当に日本の誇るプロフェッショナルのヴォーカリストの歌を堪能できる貴重な作品と言えるでしょう。

塩谷氏の音色の美しさは繊細さがいちばん染みわたります。歌をそっと支えたり包み込んだり、このピアノだから竹善氏の表現はどんどん登りつめるようです。
そしてさほど主張しない優しさなのに、こんなにもこころをもっていかれる陶酔があるとは。ピアノの潤いが今作の大事なこころの中心を司っているといえるでしょう。

さて今作はすべて中野サンプラザで毎年開かれる塩谷氏のソルティッシュ・ナイトに竹善氏がゲストで参加した音源から厳選されたもの。このラインナップを見るに、
ポップス音楽はボーダレスの世界だという竹善氏の考えがよくわかりますよね。AORからジャズ、ポップス様々な背景を持った音楽が名前を連ねています。
それをピアノとヴォーカルという二つのツールだけでこんなに色鮮やかな演奏が行われるとは、と驚かされます。
しかし、ただのピアノとヴォーカルなのではなく、塩谷氏のピアノと竹善氏との息の合った音楽のコミュニケーションが見どころなのだと紹介できます。
それがどのアーティスト同士でもすぐ成立するかといえば、なかなかうまくはいかないでしょう。でも今作はそれが味わえるのですから、貴重な音源であり傑作です。
こんなに音楽の幸せに満ちた空気が伝わってくる歌とピアノの作品は稀ですよ。
