    撮影した写真を整理するのには、大変便利です。
    どこで写したかを、ガイドブックや地図と比較しながらの整理は、デジカメを使った旅の楽しさを広げてくれます。
    バッテリーはオキシライドを使用しましたが、4日間の旅行で2本使用。稼働時間は10時間以上／本といったところで、カタログとの差を感じませんでした。

    ただし・・・
    （１）形状が三角なため、アンテナの方向が定まらない。
    （２）受信できない場合は、バッテリーの消耗が激しい。
    （３）ソニー製ソフトがないと、Googleとの連携が面倒。

    いわゆるGPSロガー。15秒置きにGPSで居場所を記録保管してくれます。都市部での移動が多いため、どこまで精度が出るか不安でしたが、最初に衛星を見つけて記録を始めるまでちょっと時間がかかるものの（開けたところでしばらく立ちつくさないと無理）、いったん記録が始まると町中でも意外にデータを拾ってくれます。中層マンション中心の自宅から駅まで、高層ビルの並ぶ丸の内で昼飯を食いにいく道筋など、そこそこの精度で拾ってくれるのは感心。

    ただし付属ソフトは、データを吸い出す以外はあまり使えません。フリーソフトのtrk2googlemaps and kml を使うと、google mapやgoogleアースと連動できて非常に使途が広がります。欠点としては、特に衛星を探しているときは（圏外の携帯と同じで）ものすごく電気を食い、単三電池一本で一日もちません。またGPSロガーとしてはかなりでかい部類となり、WintekやGlobalsatなど台湾メーカーの超小型ロガーと値段も性能も似たり寄ったりかそれ以下で、決定的な魅力に欠けます。かばんにぶら下げておくのもためらわれる大きさで、それでもぶら下げておいたらちょっとしたはずみで付属の引っ掻け道具が外れて、チャンギ空港でなくしてしまいました。

    悪くはない製品だと思いますが、2007年末の時点では積極的に押す感じでもありません。

    ツーリングやサイクリング、旅行などで撮影した写真を、「位置」をタグにして整理することが出来るようになります。地図上に自分の撮った写真がどんどんたまっていく様子は壮観ですね。
    これで取ったログ（移動した軌跡）は、GPSBabelなどのツールを使えばkmlファイルに変換できるので、GoogleEarth上に軌跡を展開して楽しむことも可能。
    地図ソフトであるSuperMapple Digital for Sony も付属していて、買ったその日に使えます。ただ、電池の持ちはもう一歩（アルカリで約10時間）なので予備電池は必須。
