あまり知られていなく、キーワード検索でも引っかからないので、最近まで知りませんでしたが、本屋で見つけて購入しました。

すばらしい良書です。
昨今、日本では医療疾患としての「性同一性障害者」への人権意識は高まっていますが、セクシュアリティの多様性を認めるという、人権意識はまだまだかと思います。

この本は、セクシュアリティの多様性が、世界各地でいかに、拷問や暴力で踏みにじられているかが記されています。

また、性的指向や、ジェンダーアイデンティティを変える目的の「治療」は、拷問に相当する、という指摘は、精神科医をはじめとする医療従事者が心にとめておく言葉だと思います。

セクシュアリティに関心のあるすべての人に呼んでほしい良書です。

　世界各国で起きてきた性的少数者たちへの差別・拷問などの事例を分類別に取り上げ、各事例に対するアムネスティ・インターナショナルの見解が述べられています。たとえ国家が公に反同性愛的な政策を取っていないとしても、性的少数者たちの存在自体が個人レベルで如何に否定され得るかを考えさせられました。また、レズビアンとして生きていくことについても考えさせられました。周りにレズビアンの友達が数人いるんですが、この本を読んでから彼女らの言うこと（たとえ冗談交じりでも）の行間が読めるようになりました。アムネスティ・インターナショナルの見解も、極端に走らず、理のかなったものですし、七十数頁と分量もそれほどありませんので、人権に興味を持っている方にはオススメです。
