昨年彼の来日公演を聴きにいった。公演時間より1時間遅れて開演され最初の音を耳にしたその瞬間に、不覚にも目から涙が溢れ出してしまった。”サウタージ（郷愁）”を感じさせなければボサ・ノヴァではないといわれるが、彼はまるで世界中の悲しみを背負って孤独にステージに存在していた。背負っているものの大きさが違うのだ。それと同時に悲しみをすっぽり優しさで包み込むすべを知っている。そういった意味で彼は生きるボサ・ノヴァである。このアルバムで聴かれる声とギターというシンプルな構成は正に彼の真骨頂だ。ボサ・ノヴァという音楽は拡大解釈され世界に広まり癒し系音楽の代名詞となりつつあるが、ジョアン・ジルベルトを聴かずしてボサ・ノヴァは語れないであろう。未だ彼は他の追従を許さない。

三月の水とは対照的に、年をとってからの温かみのある声。

邦題通り、まさに声とギターだけの滋味溢れる名人芸。

粒の整ったギターに、丁寧に歌声が重ねられる。

カエターノ・ヴェローゾがじっくりとジョアンに付き合って録った作品。

曲目もいいので、誰にでもお勧めしたい。

5.0 out of 5 stars ヴォーカルとギターの融和、それとも乖離？, 2007/8/26
『コパカバーナのアパートで、昼は仕事をしているミュージシャンたちが夜な夜な集まって音楽を奏でているときに、周りからうるさいと苦情がでて、それでああいう優しく秘めやかな歌い方になったんだ･･･』(映画｢THIS IS BOSSA NOVA｣のなかで進行役のホベルト・メネスカル談)。レイトショーしかない大阪梅田の映画館から帰宅したのは遅くかなり疲れていたが、寝る前にどうしても聴きたくなり選んだのがこのＣＤ。

｢GETZ/GILBERTO｣(1963年)で洗礼を受けてこのかた、ボサノヴァは私にとって居心地の良い音楽であり続けている。トム・ジョビン(先の映画で、贔屓のジェリー・マリガンと冗談を言い合っているシーンを見て驚嘆！)を太陽とするなら、ジョアン・ジルベルトはまさしく月だろう。動と静とも言うべきか、センスと才能に満ち溢れボサノヴァの旗手として音楽界の表舞台で活躍したジョビンと比べると、マスコミ嫌いのジョアンはまるで求道者のようであり、彼の音楽の頑なさにそれがひしひしと感じられる。

『聴衆がうるさければうるさいほど、ジョアンは声のボリュームを落とした･･･』(同じく映画から)。特に晩年のＣＤを聴くたびに不思議に思うのだが、静かなのに荒々しくさり気ないのに悲しみも喜びも溢れている。声とギターのたった２つの組み合わせのなかで、溶け合ったり時には離れたり、聴く方の我々のそのときの気分によって違った雰囲気が感じられるのは私だけであろうか。すべてがお気に入りなのだが敢えてと言われれば、月並みだけどイントロもラストも素敵な｢ヂサフィナード｣で･･･。
