ソロ・アコースティック・ライブのノーカット版なので、彼のモゴモゴと喋るMC（すっごく愛嬌がある）やギター・チューニングなど曲の合間の雰囲気がよく伝わってきます。

チューニングからどのように曲に入っていくかなど注意して聞いてますと、実に面白い。何気なく聞いていても凄く自然です。

ニールヤングのベスト版等を聞いて「アコースティック、いいなぁ」と感じた人にはかなりお勧め。調整された音源という感じがせず、音が生々しいところがよいです。ニール＝ヤングが目の前で歌ってるみたい。

同封のDVDは・・・ライブ映像じゃないので、びっくりしました。CDの音源をBGMに、ニールヤングの半身が移った写真と粉雪が舞っている様子が１時間に渡り映るだけです。後、５分ほどの予告編。資源の無駄としか言い様がないです。ちょっと残念です。後は・・・ジャケットがつや消しの紙ジャケット使用になっていて、凄くお洒落です。

ニールヤングのギター一本弾き語り、最高です。音源がすばらしいだけに、DVDが本当にくやしい。

ニールが２３歳になる直前にミシガン州で行ったソロ・ライヴ。全曲ギター１本の弾き語り。ピアノもハーモニカも使わない。スタジオ録音アルバムとはアレンジが異なる曲（Ｍ９等）があったり、６８年にもうできていたのかと驚く曲（Ｍ１１）があったりして、ニール・ファンには聞き逃せない作品だ。ＣＤと全く同じ内容がＤＶＤに映像なしで収録されているが、24bit/96kHzの音質は高音部の鮮明さの点でＣＤよりさすがに勝る。私はＤＶＤをＣＤ代わりにして聴いている。もっとも録音状態はマッセー・ホール・ライヴよりは劣る。ＭＣが多くても日本盤は訳つきなので、日本盤がお薦めだ。似た調子の演奏が続くので、後年のニールを知る者にとっては少し単調さを感じはないではないが、大海に１人で漕ぎ出したニールの自負とナイーブさに満ちた初々しいソロ・ライヴの出発点を確認できる貴重な作品であることに間違いはない。なお、ジャケ写真は６７年リンダ・マッカートニー撮影のものとのこと。

ＤＶＤにはアーカイヴズの予告が５分ほどあるが、それによるとＶｏｌ．１はＤＶＤ１０枚又はブルーレイ（これも１０枚のよう）のセットで、２３６頁の本がつく模様。内容は（Ｖｏｌ．１だけでと思うが）43 Unreleased, 13 Never-Before-Heardを含む１２８オーディオ・トラック、1000s of Images, Hours of New, Previously Released & Rare Video, Journey through the past等を含む大作だ。ブルーレイの音は24bit/192kHz。ニール・ファンは今から購入資金対策が必要だろう。日本盤を出すのか不明だが、出してもボブ・ディランの最新作のような中途半端な作品にはしないで欲しい。

ニールヤングの新しいのが、来た！という事実に関しては、星五つで文句ないのですが、その内容はというと、しゃべりが多い。リスニングの練習になるかも。何をしゃべってるのかが、わかればいいのですが、輸入版で日本語解説もないし！音としてはあんまり音質とか音のバランスはよくないですが、なまなましさはある。小さい小屋でのライブなのか、lonerなんかはすぐ隣で歌ってくれてるみたい。mr.soulきいてると、遠藤賢司と似ているな〜と感じました。

なにより、trail trackが面白いです。お茶目なneilくんが見られます。あと、本編の映像は、、、なんなんでしょ、あれは。ずっと前半同じ場面が。途中で切ってしまったので、あとでもう一度見てみる。
