　80年代後期から90年代前半に大活躍したバンドユニコーン。ユニークな歌詞と全員がボーカルを取る不思議なバンドだった。
　意表をつく歌詞には当時驚いたものだった。気がつけば93年に解散宣言。。ポッカリ穴が空いた感じで、このアルバムを買ったのを覚えている。名曲「大迷惑」「働く男」「すばらしい日々」「雪が降る町」がずらりと収録されてます。

だいたいがあの「服部」のジャケットだけで、
「ふざけたバンドだ」と当時は思ってました。
でもアイドルバンドのようで、実は同業者が舌を巻くほどの
演奏技術の高いヤツらを集めたスーパーなバンドだったんですね。
言われてみれば演奏が凄いな。だから歌がスッと入ってきて、
いつの間にか口ずさむ、何度でも聴きたくなるんだろうな。
歌詞は深そうで、実は適当そうで、その辺は今の奥田民生ワールドと同じだけど、
他の人も曲作ってて、ボーカルもとってるので、聴いてて楽しいし飽きない。
バンドとしての強さも感じます。その辺はビートルズなんだと思う。

加えて、このベスト盤の編集が素晴らしい。変にいじること無く、
年代順で、新録とか新曲とかは無し。ライブバージョンかよってのも無し。
有名曲はすべて入っていて、１枚にまとめている。
そしてこれ以外にベスト盤は無く、できる可能性も無い。解散したので。
ベスト盤の鏡です。
これで怒るのは「１枚にまとめやがって」って思うファンの人だけでしょう。
新旧洋邦どの音楽好きが聴いても楽しめると思います。
オススメは「自転車泥棒」
奥田民生らしいと思ったら、実はギターのテッシー作でした。
見た目やそのギタープレイとは違う一面を、この人の作った曲は聴かせてくれます。

中学時代にボウイを聞いて育った私は、なぜかユニコーンだけは聞かずに大人になりました。

いま、iPODに入れて毎日聞いてますが、やっぱいい！！っすね。

なんでアノ頃聞いてなかったんだろーなー。

パフィを生んだユルイポップの才能はやっぱすごいし。どことなくパーソンズぽっい曲もあったりして、当時のバンドブームを思い出したりできます。

ユニコーンの曲って、奥田民生の滑舌のよさもあってか、歌詞が耳に残るじゃないすか。で、

「ぼくらははなればなれ~」とか
「つかれたー」とか「ただ寝るだけ~」とか、

働く男の哀愁、みたいなものが、当時の私にはおっさん過ぎたんだろう。（いまの私には心にしみるが）リアルタイムの頃は、それがなんか後ろ向きで悲観的に思えて、嫌いだったのかも。

でもじっくり聞くと、最終的には、人々を元気付ける歌詞だったのですね。今日もiPODで癒されます。
