著者略歴 (「BOOK著者紹介情報」より)

サヴィニャック,レイモン
1907年、フランス・パリ生まれ。アールデコの巨匠・A.M.カッサンドルに師事し、ポスター制作をスタート。49年『フランスのポスター展』にて、はじめて『牛乳石鹸モンサヴォン』の原画を発表。それがモンサヴォンのオーナーであるウージェーヌ・シュレールの目に留まり広告に採用、一躍有名なポスター作家となる。その後ビックや、チンザノ、ペリエ等多数の広告ポスターを手がけ、数々の賞を受ける。79年にパリを離れ、ノルマンディーの保養地トゥルヴィルに移住。2002年10月30日に永眠

小柳 帝
1963年、福岡県大牟田市生まれ。東京大学教養学部教養学科卒、東京大学大学院総合文化研究科修士課程修了。現在はライター、編集者、翻訳者として活躍する一方、フランス語教室「ROVA」を主宰(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

優れたポスターとは、「思想のグラフィックな表現」であると語ったサヴニャック
さんのポスター１枚と示唆に富んだ自身の思想をＡからＺの語から始まる言葉を
各見開きに配した前半部と後半には７０〜８０年代を中心としたポスター原画や
デッサンも含んだ作品が並びます。

９０年代に初出の本書を日本語版を訳出した小柳氏とサビニャックさんとの
交流などについても写真を交え巻末に収められています。

Ｈ（Ｈｕｍｏｕｒ／ユーモア）の項で述べられているように、「ユーモアは、
抗ストレスの妙薬だ。それは心身のバランスを整え、血行を良くし、自由な発想を生む。
毎日服用すること。」を実践したサヴィニャックさんの経歴を含めたポスターの
世界を知るには、代表的な図版も多くとてもよい本だと思います。
