「サラリーマン金太郎」は1994年から週刊ヤングジャンプに連載されたサラリーマン立志伝。暴走族「八州連合」の総長と言う経歴を持つ子持ちの元漁師がヤマト建設会長の命を救ったことにより、ヤマト建設に中途仮採用されサラリーマン人生を歩み、サラリーマンとして、人間として成長していく。本宮ひろ志氏の漫画なので見所はなんといっても主人公、金太郎の熱い男気と、その人格にまわりの人間が影響を受けていく様。常識にしばられない金太郎をはじめ、伊郷龍蔵や三田善吉、など一癖も二癖もある魅力的な人物が数多く登場し、決して成功話だけで流さずマンネリ化しないストーリーが素晴らしい。本巻はその大人気コミック「サラリーマン金太郎」の再編集版浮気編第三部と出向編第一部。
