2007年に他界した伝説のラリードライバー、コリン・マクレーの名を冠したRCG『コリン・マクレー ダート』シリーズの第2弾。メインモードの"ワールドツアー"では、渓谷、ジャングル、スタジアムなど世界各地のさまざまな環境を舞台に、ジャンプ台や水濠の設けられたコースで、本物さながらの過激なレースが楽しめる。グラフィック&物理エンジンには、『レースドライバーグリッド』で使用された"ゲームエンジンEGO"の改良版を採用。高解像度テクスチャによってモデリングされたマシン群は、実車と見間違えるほどリアルなものに進化している。ツアー以外には、PS3版とXbox 360版ではオンライン、PSP版ではアドホックモードでマルチプレイが可能。PS3版とXbox 360版のみ、クラッシュやミスした直前のレース状態まですばやく巻き戻せる"フラッシュバック機能"が搭載されている。

過去のPSP商品「Colin Mcrae Rally 2005 Plus」(日本版 Colin Mcrae Rally)の出来を期待して購入しましたが、そのレベル以下の商品でした。
グランツーリスモほど操作系がシビアではないが難しかった分良い作品を出せていたのに（Colin Mcrae Rally 2005 Plusの事）残念です。
内容は、過去のPSソフトの「V-Rally」やPSPでも出ている「Sega Rally Revo」「WRC」のような雰囲気です。

グラフィックのあまり綺麗ではなく、操作系も乏しく、個人的には、Code Mastersらしくない商品に思えました。
単にリアルではないカーゲームが好みの方にはこの程度で楽しめるのかもしれませんが、大雑把な出来です。

　ＧＴを体験した後、そのレベルの期待感を抱いてこのゲームを購入しましたが、ゲーム内容及びグラフィックにおいて話になりません。
ＧＴとは追求したものが違うという認識も持てませんでした。走りのリアリティに欠けるとしても、爽快感で勝るか？というとそういうわけでもありません。
　プレイ中に「昔こんなレースゲームがあったよな」と、往年のレースゲームを思い出す始末。
操作においては、ブレーキとサイドブレーキの違いが区別できません。

コードマスターとコリンマクレーシリーズに期待していただけに残念です。
