このアルバムは本当に素晴らしいと思うのですが、これこれこんな感じ、だから聴いてね、というのがうまく説明し難いせいで、世間に知れ渡りにくいように見えます。独創的にすぎるとこういうことになってしまいます。似た音楽を挙げるということが難しいから、言葉で人の興味を引くしかできません。それも、音楽自体が捉えどころが無いものなので、捉えどころの無い説明しかしようがないのだから、ますます大変です。

また一つ捉えどころの無い説明を試みるならば、優しいようで厳しく、夢の中にいながら醒めており、手練でありながら拙く、理知的のようでいてイカれており、こじんまりとしていながらだだっ広く、輝いているのに闇が深く、過去のようでも未来のようでもあり、もっともプライベートな領域ともっとも普遍的な領域が境無く共存している、なんというか、不思議な作品です、とでも言っておけばいいのでしょうか、わかりません。

１０年間一枚もアルバムを出していないのにこれだけ長く語られ続けているというのもなかなか無いのではないでしょうか（残念ながら一部でだけど）。もっと多くの人に聴いてほしいと強く願っていますが、それは僕自身が戸張大輔の新しい作品を聴きたくてしようがないからです。周囲が彼のカムバックを熱狂で迎える素地を作っておきたいからです。アルバム出すらしいよ、みたいな噂は定期的に目にするけれども、一度として実現してないですね･･･。ビートルズもゲンズブールもピアソラもコルトレーンもドレイクもピアフもフィッシュマンズも新作は聴けないけど、戸張大輔は聴けるんですよ、本人さえやる気になれば。

この文を読まれているあなた。あなたは戸張大輔が気になってこの文を読んでいると思うのだけど、この戸張大輔という人が気になった時点で、もうこの人の音楽にハマる可能性は極めて高いです。そして誇張抜きで一生聴き続けられる可能性のあるCDです。
楽曲、アレンジのレベルがとても高く宅録であることが全くマイナスになっていません。音質はこもっていますが逆にこれがなんとも形容しがたいプラスの効果を生んでいます。例えるなら、知らない国のAMラジオでとても不思議且つ良い曲が流れていた、といった感じです。アシッドフォーク、音響派、Jポップ、民族音楽などが一緒くたになった「誰も知らないツボをつく」音楽。是非聴いてみて下さい。

　天才とか、鬼才とかよくいわれている戸張大輔のファースト。買いました。聴きました。驚愕しました。何でしょう？最近思うのですがやたらと天才だの鬼才だのという言葉が安易に使われすぎていると感じていましたがどうやら彼は、本物のようです。音がそれを証明しています。

この声を聴けばそれがどういうことかが分かります。蛇足ですが、ネオアコっぽい曲もあります。是非聴いてみてください(笑)。
