5.0 out of 5 stars 反抗期の子供の心理がよく描けています, 2006/5/10
親にとって、子供は幾つになっても「子供」なのですが、
反抗期の子供にとっては、そんな「子供扱い」が大いに腹が立つところ。
でも、反抗はしても、やっぱりパパやママが大好き。
そんな反抗期の子供の心理が、とても生き生きと描けています。

お話も面白いのですが、各ページに１枚ずつ配された挿絵がとても表情豊かで
お話の世界をさらに広げ・盛り上げています。
挿絵はモノクロの鉛筆描きで、柔らかな雰囲気がすてき。
登場人物は猫のキャラクターなのですが、
どの絵も個性的で、絵を見るだけでもワクワクします。

ウンゲラーのファンにも、ウンゲラーの作品に初めて触れる方にも、
お勧めの１冊です。

「ねえ坊や」パイパーのお母さんは、パイパーをいつも子ども扱いする。べたべたとパイパーの世話を焼く。パイパーは生意気盛りの反抗期。ある日、学校のみんなの前でママにキスされてしまったのだ。いつまでも成長しない子どもはいない。親から離れて自立して行くとき、「お母さんなんかだいきらい。キスなんてだいきらい」そうやって自分を出して反抗していくことこそ大事だよね。押さえ込んだら自分が自分でなくなってしまうよ。そう押さえこまなくていいんだよ。パイパーがお母さんを大好きなことは判っているんだからさ。みんなが通る道だから。いつでも親が読んで成長したい１冊だ。

ネコの主人公パイパーの少年期から青年期に移る微妙な時期のこころの葛藤をトミー=ウンゲラーの軽やかなタッチの鉛筆画によって描きだした傑作。お母さんに坊や坊やと言われ、そしてなにかにつけてキスされることを嫌がるパイパー。もう子供じゃないよと反発するもある事件がきっかけでパイパーは「成長」していく。
