芦奈野さん独特の間の捉え方が冴えに冴えてストーリーそのものは大した起伏も無いのに、凄く読ませてくれます。その起伏の無さもこの巻で少し動いたようでイサキと同年代の女の子パイロットのサヨリさんが中盤から登場します。芦奈野キャラでは珍しい?つり目がちな女の子ですね。後半ではサヨリさんの地元の木更津までイサキは足を伸ばします。どの話にも通じる事ですが、場面場面の空気感が感じられ、読んでいるとその場の空気や音も感じられ大変気持ちいいですね。草原の向こうを編隊を組んで飛んでく輸送機隊の『ハナグロ』の様子や深夜営業の蕎麦屋の周りの湿気た空気、明け方飛び立つ時のだんだん暖かくなってく空気、木更津の夕方の海っぺりの空気など、すぐ連想出来ます。昔ながらの手書きトーンを駆使しながらいろんな場面を演出してくれる作者の力量は大したものだと思いますね。お気に入りの話は『深夜16号』『葦の中』です。シロさんの世慣れた感じや飛行機の使い方、サヨリさんのイサキに告白?するシーンは先ほど言った空気感と相まって非常に良かったです。

「ヨコハマ買い出し紀行」でも有名な芦奈野ひとし先生の「カブのイサキ」第２巻。
相変わらずとても丁寧に背景が描かれていて作品の雰囲気を他作品とは一線を画するものに仕立て上げていると感じます。カラーページも独特な淡い色彩でやさしい印象。すごく穏やかな空気を感じることのできる漫画です。

なぜか地面が１０倍になった世界の空をヒコーキが駆け回っているという設定。非常にスケールのでかい話ではあるのですが、読むとなんとなくそうは感じさせないところが凄いと思いました。それを可能にしているのが温かい人柄を感じさせるシンプルな会話の数々。そして気の抜けるような擬音の使い方だと感じました。「べーーーーべべべ」と走るイサキの原チャリは私の今巻一番のお気に入りです。

月刊アフタヌーンで隔月連載なので単行本は１年ペース。一冊読んですぐに次の巻が気になるタイプの漫画では決してないですが、発売日が迫るとなんとも心躍るんですよね。１，２巻を読みながら気長に次を待つことが苦にならない漫画です。

「面白い漫画」、というよりも「いい漫画」という表現がぴったりくる数少ない漫画だと思います。
ゆっくりと読んで欲しい一冊。とてもオススメです。

前作のヨコハマ買い出し紀行でもそうでしたが、
先生の作品は、なぜか、その場の香りがしてくる感じがします。

僕だけかも知れませんが。

この巻では、広い草原で「草の香り」を感じました。

不思議です。
