オオタニヨシミ

1980年東京生まれ。
イラストレーター／デザイナー。

絵として「面白み」があることを重視しながら、日本独特の感覚である「侘び・寂び・枯れ」「粋」を現代感覚で解釈したエッセンスを利かせた作品を描く。
アニメーション・漫画などのジャパニメーション的表現と、デザイン・アート的表現のちょうど真ん中の絵柄が特徴。

2008年春、funariumという[fun（おもしろい）]＋[arium（場所）]造語でドメインを取得し、NYで初個展を開催。
以降、展示などのアーティスト活動もはじめる。

会員制バーの内装壁画、携帯電話カバーや画面デザイン、コンシューマーゲーム映像用イラストなど、紙・デジタル・web、媒体をとわず国内外で活動中。

She was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1980.

She worked on cell-phone icons and backgrounds, books, magazines, interior decorations, CD jacket art, website images, etc, and so on in the professional sense.

For her creations, she combined a traditional mindset (Iki) with a sense of modern Japanesque "passive demenor (Wabi)", "elegant simplicity (Sabi)", and/or a "classic taste (Kare)".
The character of her works are a hybrid of Japanimation/comics and design/artistic expression.
