三國時代の赤壁、官渡、定山の戦いなど、歴史的な戦いを再現したリアルタイムシミュレーションゲーム。曹操、劉備、孫氏のそれぞれにシナリオが用意され、コンピューターの率いる敵軍を打ち敗れば、新しい戦場に進むことができる。1つの戦場には最大1600ユニットまで参加が可能で、大軍同士の総力戦が行える。また、投石車、攻城車、凧兵、藤甲兵などの三國志ならではのユニットを用意。自分の技量に応じて難易度が選択可能な思考エンジンを搭載し、地図編集モードを使用することで、オリジナルのシナリオも作成ができる。

通常の兵種の他に、武将や軍師などがユニットとして登場。三国志に登場する個性豊かな武将を、思うままに操ることが出来ます。孔明や仲達の法術が戦場の行方を変える、勇敢な一騎打ちを完全再現しました。ネットワーク対戦も当然可能で、白熱した戦いが展開されます。
