　プレイステーションからの移植で，待望のファイナルファンタジー(でも，これ以降はご無沙汰ですが)。
　環境はWindows95ということになっていますが，試してみたところWindows95のほか，98，Me，2000，XPと問題なく動いています。フルポリゴンとはいえ，1GHz級のノートパソコンでほぼ快適に動作しますので，マシンパワーを心配することなく楽しめます。
　プレイステーション版との違いですが，魔法の整頓が若干やりやすくなっています(パターン別の自動配置が数種類用意されている)。通してやってみましたが，ドール市街戦でサイファーを使った稼ぎとか，「カード」でAPを稼ぐとか，ちゃんとできましたから内容的には忠実な移植だと思います。
　欠点・・・というかパソコン版ゆえの辛い場面としては「デリング大統領拉致作戦」で列車の連結部を操作する際とか，どれがどのボタンか激しく混乱します。できれば，プレイステーション用のコントローラーをUSBアダプタを通して使用するか，せめて形状が似ている製品があったほうがよいでしょう。ガンブレードのトリガーや，ゼルのデュエル入力にも直接関わりますからね。とりあえず，8ボタンのアナログスティック付きコントローラーは必須です。
　ストーリーとか内容に関しては評価の対象外ということにします。かなり好き嫌いが分かれる作品ですから・・・この8は。私はけっこう好きです。
　あと，オマケとして「おでかけチョコボ」が同梱されています。もちろん本編との連携ができますから，ポケステを今さら用意する必要はありません(笑)。ポケステでしか手に入らないアイテム等も健在です。

PCというハードの性質上、ゲーム画面のクォリティの向上はPSを遥かに凌駕している。
召還獣ひとつにしてもそのクォリティは類を見ないほど美しい。
つい、そのグラフィック見たさに乱発してしまう事もしばしば。
PS版に比べての大きな利点は、ロードの短さであると感じる。
PSはPS2になってもそのマシン性能上のロード時間の長さがゲームを遊ぶ上での最大のネックとなっていた。
だが、PC版はマシン性能にその大半が依存されている。
PC自体の性能が上がっている昨今、更にこのゲームは快適に動作するだろう。

内容等のレビューはPS版に譲るとする。

これはＰＳ版と比べグラフィックがきれいになっています。
他にはＰＣの環境によりますが全体がスムーズになりました。

作品としてみてもムービーは綺麗だし、話も良いと思います。
システム等、色々不満がある人もいるみたいですが私はそんなことは思いません。とてもお勧めできる作品だと思っています。
