ギタリストの間では、ここまで綺麗にフィンガー・ピッキングが
弾けるとは・・・少々驚きました。
彼は元来、フィンガーピッカーではないのでアコギでも殆どピックを
使って弾いています。
事の発端は「指で弾いたら良い音がしたから」と当時のインタビューで
エリック本人が語っています。
オープニングの「サイン」は綺麗なインストナンバーで上手い、
スリーフィンガー・プレイが聴けます。ラミネスが良く鳴っています。
オールド・ソングの「3.ヘイ・ヘイ」も見事なプレイです。
デレク＆ドミノスの曲「6.ノーバディ・ノウズ・ユー」をやるとは
思っていませんでしたが、これが非常に格好いい。
ギター・ソロでピックに持ち替えるあたりは、切り換えが上手い。
「レイラ」のアコースティック・アレンジは最高の出来です。
「アルバータ」を久しぶりに聴けたのはファンには懐かしいのでは。

発売当時から現在に至るまで、アコースティック・ギター
旋風を巻き起こした、アルバムであり彼のフィンガー・プレイが
光った作品です。マーティンの０００-２８モデルが世界中で売れたギターとなりました。

クラプトンは世界の名ギタリストと比べてど、ど、どうまい！
・・・というわけではないと思う。
それでも彼ほどに耳だけではなく、心に響いてくるギターを聴かせてくれるギタリストがどれほどいるだろう。
そして彼ほどに”楽勝”にソロを弾いて…「俺でもできそう」という大いなる勘違いをさせてくれるギタリストがどれほどいるだろうか！

音楽を聴いて、どれだけリラックスできるかどうかは演奏する側がどれだけリラックスして演奏するかにかかっていると言われる。
この作品の彼のプレイを聴くならこの意味もよくわかる。
彼のとらえた”ブルース”を聴くとき、彼が偉大なギタリストであることが理解できると思う。

まあなんだな、このシンガーは天才肌だからアルバムのでき不出来の波が激しいわけです。８０年代は厳しい時代だった。でこのアルバムです。電気使わないで、素のままでライブをしたのがよかったのか、いままでで一番ハートのこもったアルバムになった。黒人ブルーズをカバーしているが、うまい具合に肩のちからが抜けています。こういう状況ですとポテンシャルがうまい具合に引き出されますです。アメリカ国内だけでも７００万枚売り上げたばけものアルバムなのです。こういうセッティング（シンセサイザーを使わない）のほうがこのクラプトンという人には力量を発揮できるみたいです。　　１０点中１０点
