まず、表紙に惹かれてしまいました。
著者はフロイト派を進めた先駆者である。
先駆者であることのつらさを味わっていたのだが、
「アブノーマル」を題材にしたこの本は、
「誰か狂える。」という冒頭の一句から始まる。
つまり、誰が異常であり正常であるかなんて分かるのか。
という著者の問いかけである。

マゾ・サド・同性愛・露出・フェチetcたくさんの変態性欲といわれるものが
事例をもとに解説されている。
もっとも、当時の変態が今日もそうとは限らないということがあり、
今では、十分に一般的というものも変態性欲にはいっている。
これは、現代の性解放をも意味している。時代の流れとともに変わっていくものだが、

フロイト派の古典として是非読んでおきたい一冊である。
