Mac Book alminium(2008 later)を購入したのですが、Apple Remoteが付属していなかったので、購入しました。
システム環境設定のセキュリティでApple RemoteとMac Bookとのリンクを設定できます（他のApple Remoteから勝手に操作できないようにする）。
Mac Bookの場合、iSightの近くに赤外線ポートがあるみたいです。
Apple RemoteのMenuボタンを押すとMac BookでFront Rowが起動します。
あとは直感で操作できるので本当に楽しいです。

本体がアルミになってから、付属しなくなった気がしますが
Front Row を使う人には、必需品だと思います。
最初に、ペアリングが必要ですので、使用開始時にはご注意を。

出来れば、アルミテイストのものが欲しいです。

iPodもリモートコントロールできるようですが
iPodでは、あまり魅力は感じれません。
Macのリモコンとして使うには
Front Rowの利用・iTunesのリモコン
BootCampに入れたWindows用のiTunesもリモコンとして使える辺りが
Macユーザーにとっては便利でいいですね！！
