大御所の女流作家がはまるテーマのひとつに女濃度100％女の生き様というのがある。
曽野綾子だと砂糖菓子が壊れるとき，有吉佐和子だと悪女について，そして林真理子だと本書アッコちゃんの時代となるだろう。
その筆致に共通するのは，作者自身の素直な憧憬である。
「もし生まれ変わったら，こんな生き方してみたーい。」と言うがごとく，奔放だったり，無垢だったり，阿呆だったり，したたかだったり，ただし容姿は最上という共通点を持つ女を描く。その像をリアルに結実させることが快感となる。精神的なコスプレ遊びと言える。
男には出来ない生き方は楽しそうである。
でも男にしか出来ない地上げの帝王の人生も楽しそうである。
楽しそうな人たちの小説を読むのは楽しい。

この本の「バブル懐古」「アッコちゃん賛美」は、表層的なものだと思う。

モデルとして協力してくれている「アッコちゃん」に対し、あからさまに
悪意のある書き方などできる訳がない。
「ほめ殺し」である。

金と色にまみれた時代風俗をこれでもかと読まされて、正直辟易した。
それと前後して、アッコちゃんと男たちの会話が繰り返される。
アッコちゃんのモノローグも入る。

通読するのに疲れて、会話とモノローグをあらかじめ飛ばし読みして
みた。
そして改めてわかった。
アッコちゃんという登場人物は、実に何も考えていないのである。

林真理子は、バブルの思い出に酔ったフリをしながら、あの時代の
滑稽さ、そこで踊らされた女達の愚かさを、周到に浮き彫りにして
いるのではないか。

モデルが現存している以上、失礼なことは書けない。
筆が鋭くならないよう、手加減をしつつ、それでもいつのまにか
外堀を固め、自分が読者から引き出したいと思う感想を引き出して
いる。

アッコちゃんとは別の意味で「女の天才」である。

こんな時代があったのだなと懐かしいです。バブル絶頂の頃を描いた作品。悩みもなく毎晩踊っていた女達、私はぜひ続編が読んでみたいです。バブル期の女性達はいまどうしているのでしょう。
