滅亡した未来（２０年後）からやってきたアスカ（男）。
転入してきた高校に守るべき（？）女性が居た。
そして、彼女を狙って次々に現れる、未来からの刺客。

島本和彦マンガには珍しく
謎が徐々に明確になっていくという
イキオイに任せての内容になっていないｗ

ギザギザのフキダシも少なめなので
サラリと読める。

サラリ過ぎて物足りない節もあるｗ
これからの謎解きの展開に期待です。

今まで熱血ギャグ漫画家として有名だったのがこの島本和彦。
そんな彼の新作は熱血ギャグではなくSFコメディ。
言うなれば今作は"挑戦作"とも言えるでしょう。

私が雑誌で第一話を読んだ時は
「なんか二番煎じのSFだな・・・・」
と失礼ながらも思っていました。


しかし、単行本を読んで、一気に考え方が変りました。

「そう来たか！」とね。

作風も石ノ森章太郎やその他SF作品に酷似しているものの、
島本和彦独自の世界観、設定が作中で描かれています。
展開しだいでは、サイボーグ009に並ぶ超大作になるえるかもしれません。

しかし、月刊連載ということもあり展開が遅く感じられます。
ストーリーも以前のように一話完結ではありませんし・・・
個人的には週刊連載向けの作品だと思います。

島本作品といえば熱血ギャグ、または何か教訓めいた言葉や場面が多い印象がありますが、それが今のところほとんどない!
島本作品でこういうSFバトルアクション(?)ものは私の知る限りスカルマン、炎のニンジャマン、メガシード、バトルサンダー、ワンダービットなど色々ありはしたが、今回は上に上げたような既作と全然違う。
GXに連載していた前作の新吼えろペンの8巻で富士鷹先生は炎尾先生に対し【「本当の答えを知りたいよ」ってモードに導いてくれない】と言っていた。今までの作者の作品は「いっつも答えを出してばっかの漫画」ばかりだった。
だが作者もこの本のすぐ開けたところでも「じわじわ楽しくなってくる…じわじわ熱くなってくる…」と言ってる通り、謎がまだ多く、この作者にしては珍しく色々な事を出し渋っている。

未来で何が起こったのか?何故過去に送られ不思議な力を得たのか?謎の少女「愛果」とは何者なのか?何が目的で主人公はこの少女を守っているのか?主人公の相手は人数が多すぎるようにも思えるが大丈夫なのか?色々な思惑が交錯しているが何が正しいのか?未来は変わるのか?と謎や問題は尽きない。
分かっている事で言うならば、過去とか未来に関係するようなSF作品は他にたくさんあるけれど、今作の「時空圧エネルギー」というのは画期的だと思う。 しかしやはりというか、単行本では雑誌掲載のままでなく加筆修正されている。

とりあえず今後の展開に注目したいと思う。今までの作品と全然違うけど、これはこれで凄く面白い。

あと余談で、これを買った人はこれも買っています、のところに絶対可憐チルドレンがあって「おお〜」と思ってしまった。(2009年7/17現在)
こちらの話も不思議な力を持っていて、未来を変えようと様々な思惑が交錯している点では同じだから、買う層が似てるのだろうか?(しかも小学館だし)
