矢口 加奈子
1976年生まれ。女子美術大学デザイン科卒業。在学中に「歓 よろこびのかたち」と題して作品発表し、「切り紙」を様々なかたちに展開する活動を開始。手を通して生み出される作品は、新しい発見とどこか懐かしい表現にあふれ、国内外で注目を集めている。現在は、個展を中心に発表しながら、アパレルとのコラボレーションや、店舗や雑誌のアートワーク、ロゴデザイン、ワークショップなどに活動の場を広げ、メディアにも多数紹介されている。2006年より、ロサンゼルスより発信するアパレルブランド「彩歓」をスタート(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

タイトル通りやさしくてとっても楽しいです！アレンジ商品の紹介の仕方もおしゃれです。
パターンが少ないという意見もあるようですが、基本パターンをいくつか作ればすぐにアレンジして、オリジナルがつくれるので十分だと思いました。
表紙にあるデザインで、作り方のないものもありますが、完成品を見れば8分の1のパターンも書けるので、ちょっと複雑なデザインを作りたい方でも大丈夫だと思います。
私は義母の誕生日プレゼントにする子供のアルバムの装飾に使いました。

切り紙なんてしたの、子どもの頃、七夕の天の川を作って以来くらいなのに、見事にはまりました。　

切り紙の作り方が載ったレシピ本であると同時に、とても叙情的な旅のエッセイ。旅の好きな著者が、訪れた国のイメージを表現した切り紙の作り方が載っています。本を開くと実際にすぐ作れちゃうのがうれしいです。折り紙がなくても、家にあった紙がすてきな（たとえば）花の形として生まれ変わったとき、その紙が何気なくとっておいたフライヤーだったりすると、意外な色の見え方にうれしくなったりします。

旅のエッセイと、デザインについての小さなコラムを読みながら、作る作業も楽しいし、作ること以上に、著者の旅の思い出を共有して、まだ見ぬ地に思いを馳せたりする時間がきっといいんですね。ああ。私ったらなんでこんなにはまっちゃってるんだろう！！　切るのがやめられなーい。と思いながら、嬉々としていろいろな紙を選んだり大きさを変えてみたりして切り紙を作っては眺めて日曜の午後を過ごしました。　桜の形を切って、アメリカ人の夫に開かせたら「ワ〜オ！」と言います。その驚きの顔を見て、切った私の誇らしいこと！

この本は中身も見ずに、うっかり買いだったけど、純度の高い愉しいひとときをもらえて感謝しています。そして、なぜだか優しい気持ちになりました。

この本を見つける前から、切り紙にはまっていました。確かに、パターンが少ないし、簡単なパターンですよね〜。が、今まで、なかった種の本であることを評価したいと思います。
紹介されているパターンをもとに自分でいろいろアレンジしたいです。
表紙に写真があるのに切り方が紹介されていない(紹介されているもののアレンジ)というのはちょっと、そんなんあり？って思います。。
