今回のアルバム名「はなよりほかに」は、百人一首のある句からの引用であるとのことです。
その響きからも、あえて飾ろうとしない彼女の自然体な姿が窺えるような気がします。


最初にシングル曲「君の名前」がアルバムバージョンに着替えて登場し、その先に描かれる
すべての曲は、とにかくただ“美しい”と素直に感じられるものばかり。
それはボーナストラック「ふるさと」と、「ふるさと」をリスペクトして書かれた「バイバイ」
などに感じられるノスタルジックな印象が彼女の歌声と強くリンクするからでしょうか。

なぜこんなに彼女の紡ぐ言葉や音たちは、いつも聴く者にすぅっと寄り添ってくれるのか。
不思議なほどですが、決して力まず、ビブラートに頼らないまっすぐな歌声は、とにかく
ただ「清澄」という言葉でしか表現ができないほどです。
随所に刻まれるハミングも心地よく、“見えない言葉”を届けてくれているように感じます。

そして初回盤には特典として別冊ブックレットが添えられていて、各曲への思いが
彼女自身の言葉で綴られています。ぜひ初回盤を手にしてご一読を！
映像露出の少ない彼女なので、DVDなどの特典も期待していましたが（笑）
あえてブックレットという形で、それぞれの曲をわが子のようにたとえ、
手紙形式でライナーノートを綴るところに、彼女の人柄をよりよく感じられます。


はなよりほかに。　この響きも、そして彼女の紡ぎだすものすべてもが
本当にただ“美しい”としか感じられない、そんなアルバムであると思います。

いつも澄んでいる透明な歌声と飾り気のないストレートな言葉で聞き手を魅了する熊木杏里。昨年の「ひとヒナタ」から丁度1年、2枚のシングルを含めた彼女の6枚目のアルバム「はなよりほかに」。今回はどうしてラブソングを作って歌いたくて色々な資料を見てきたが、最後は百人一首に辿り着き、その中の一遍の詩から閃きを受けてタイトルをつけたという。何故か彼女の作品にはいつも詩や唄の匂いが漂っていてかなり上品な感じがする。

アルバムバージョンだという承知で「君の名前」を聞き始めたが、まさかシングルバージョンからこんなにも変わったとは思っていなかった。でもアルバムバージョンのアレンジは私がほしかったような音だったので、いいサプライズになった。イントロから流れるメロディや音を聞いて、頭の中に浮かんできた最初の言葉は「和やか」。実にとても和風で穏やかでたおやかで、全盤を通して和の感じが強くする。前のポップスさが強調されたアレンジに対し、今作の曲はほとんどアコースティックで、今までの作品の中で一番シンプルだが、それと同時に一番味わい深いアルバムになっているのではないか。聞けば聞くほど意味が分かるようになり、秋の夜長や紅葉の中の散歩の最高なパートナー。

お薦めは「君の名前」、「花言葉」と「一千一秒」。特に「君の名前」は歌詞がとても意味深いで、何度聞いても噛み締めてもいつも新鮮に聞こえる。

聴き心地の良いきれいな声にシンプルでアコースティックにこだわったアレンジがとてもよく合っています。
でもそれだけではありません。
聴き込む程に彼女の歌への想いが伝わってきます。歌が語りかけてきます。
歌が涙を流させてくれます。歌が優しい気持ちにさせてくれます。
たくさんの人に是非聴いて欲しいアルバムです。
