3.0 out of 5 stars せめてカラー印刷にしてほしかった…。, 2009/8/7
Office系の参考書すらカラー印刷されている昨今、ペイントツールの本なんだから
カラーの頁がもっと多くてもよかった気がするのがちょっと残念。

追記
索引含めて255ページありますが、カラーなのは最初の33ページ。
でも、そのカラーページはPixiaでできることの紹介といった感じ。
作業としてはダウンロード、インストールといった基本的なことから
レイヤー、マスク、フィルタといった加工系からドット絵の書き方まで。
バナーやカレンダーの作り方も書かれているが、おそらく多くのユーザは
PixiaをSaiのように使いたいと思われ、その点で星3つにしました。

はじめに基本的な操作方法が詳しく描かれているのはよいと思います。
ただ、私が目的と考えるイラストの描き方については解説が少なく、
せっかくの高機能を具体的にどう生かして良いのかよく分からず、
他のサイトでの技法紹介等に主に頼ることになりました。
Pixiaの基本機能について押さえておくのには良いかもしれませんが、
イラストを描くのが目的と考える方にはあまり必要はないかと思います。

「はじめての」というわりに、前半の基本操作のところで、はじめての人が知りたいであろう「手順」というものが、ことごとくカットされている。機能説明だけだと判断して読み流すべきか、実際にやってみるべきか悩んだあげく、やってみたのだが、手順説明が少ないため、本の写真みたいになるまでに、自分でかなりの試行錯誤が必要だった。それでもわからないところは諦めて後半へ。後半は「手順」が増えてきてやりやすくなった。しかし、前半を読み流していたらおそらく後半も理解できないと思われた。前半の頑張りがモノを言う？F●M出版のテキストのような「大きい写真で詳しい説明」を期待して買うと、「小さい写真で少ない説明」に泣きそうになること間違いなし。それでも、ソフトをインストールしたまま途方に暮れていた自分には、とてもありがたい一冊。
