全国各地のとんまな祭り　＝　とんまつりを巡った祭り紀行。

さすが、みうらじゅんさんの探してくる“面白いもの”にははずれがない（笑）

どの祭りもツッミどころ満載！
特に人がついつい隠したがる“性”に対して、あまりにも開放的な祭りが多いことには驚きました。

天狗（男）とお多福（女）の面をかぶった人が
見物客の前で和合シーン（もちろん“しているふり”だけですが）を披露する祭り・・・。

あきらかに性器とわかるような形のみこしを担いで町を練り歩く祭り・・・。

もちろん、そばの土産物屋で売っている土産は性器の形をしたグッズの数々。

その祭りに対する地元の人の麻痺っぷりは、
みうらさんをはじめ私達部外者にはあまりにも強烈！

そういった性に通じるような祭りだけでなく、
ふざけてるとしか思えない笑える祭りも多彩！

それらすべてを地元の人は毎年まじめに執り行っているんですよね〜。
きちんとした意味があるから毎年続けられる“祭り”・・・
奥の深さを痛感しました。

とんまな祭り・・・・略して「とんまつり」
地元の人は昔から当然と思って毎年やっている。
でも、部外者が見たら、「なんだんだ！？」と唖然とするようなお祭り。

みうらさんらしい視点で面白い、くだらない！！！（笑）
電車の中で読むのがちょっと恥ずかしいページも。

しかし、くだらないとはいえ、日本文化を見直すこともできるのです、本書は。

おおらかな性、不思議な風習、外国人観光客もやってくる・・・・。

民族文化的研究や調査をしている人やお祭り研究してる人しか目を向けてこなかった
ような日本の文化を、マイブーマーの視点で見てみる。
軽く明るいノリで。

しっかし、なんてプリミティブな経済大国！！
いわゆる「未開の民族」的なパワー。

こんなお祭りが残っている限りは、日本って意外と「だいじょうぶ」かも。

性に大らかな祭りが多いのは、やはり綺麗ごとだけではない庶民の感情を和らげる意味もあるんでしょう。探せば記載されているよりもっと強烈な祭りがありそうです。祭りも個性的ならば、この著者の祭りへの思い入れ、アプローチの仕方、行く方法、すべてが祭りのようです。函南の化け猫祭りがないのが惜しいです
