小手先の育成テクニックでなく、最近の新人の傾向を知った上での新人との向き合い方、心構えについて書かれた本で、とてもわかりやすい言葉で記されています。
新人育成を通じて、自分自身を成長させキャリアを築いていくという点はとても共感できました。また、「やるか、やらないか」という言葉が印象的でした。

タイトルに惹かれて購入したら、読み入ってしまいました。

新入社員を取り巻く環境、彼らに必要なことは何なのか、
育成する立場としては何をすればよいのかということが、
非常にシンプルに、分かりやすくまとめられていました。

本書は、新人指導者向けに書かれた内容ですが、
そうではない人にとっても非常に参考になる内容です。

私は新入社員を育成する立場ではないですが、グサっと
くる内容がたくさんあり、自分自身を振り返る良い機会
となりました。今の自分自身には何が必要なのか、何に
取り組むべきなのかということが明確になり、スッキリ
しました。とても前向きになれる本でもあります。

そして、本書に出てくる「ありがとうの精神」は、
とても素敵な言葉です。

「ゆとり教育世代」の新社会人にどのように対応するのか？
という論調が世の中に多い中、変わらなければならないのは、
新人よりも、育てる側（管理職）の意識とスキルであると指摘する本書。

筆者が指摘するとおり、確かに新人を取り巻く社会環境はこれまでと
大きく変わっているのであろうと思います。
インターネットの存在は当たり前であり、中学生の頃から携帯電話を持ち、
メールでのコミュニケーションが主だった彼は、
私たちが想像する以上に人とのコミュニケーションは、
対面ではなく、メール等の媒体を通じてのほうが一般的なのかもしれません。

そうしたことを否定するのではなく、時代に合わせて管理職側が
理解をし、今の時代の新人を躾けるスキルを身につけるべきという点については納得です。
