　すばらしい。わかりやすく、基本的な機能を全て押さえることができます。　　
　全体的が、練習・解説・応用の３章に分かれています。練習では初心者向けに形状ツールの使い方から丁寧に説明し、形状の合体や効果的な切り抜き方法を解説しています。分量も多くなく、一通り終えれば基本的な機能は押さえることができます。

　何よりすばらしいと感じたのは、作業の解説に初心者が、困るような書き方をしていないことです。こういった高度なソフトにはありがちな、クリエイターなら当然知っているが、素人は知らないような単語・用語の解説（例えば、パス、トリミングなど）に疎かったりするのですが、そういう部分で素人さんが殆ど詰まらずに使えていたところは見事だと思います。

　初出の単語も、その解説ページのどこかには必ず解説があるあたり、初心者の立場に立った書き方をしていると感心しました。

　解説の項目ではメニューの解説が行われています。全機能の８５％といったところでしょうか。

　応用のこうでは、写真を文字の形で切り抜いたり、写真の中の物体の形状をくりぬく（いわゆるトレース）作業などまさしく使いこなしに類する解説がされています。

　解説の項目まできちんと理解できれば、この一冊でゼロからの初心者が脱初心者まで進めるという良書だと思います。お勧めします。

趣味でイラストレーターを使いたい程度なのですが、
それでもWeb用であったり、
印刷会社に簡単なポストカードやパンフレットを入稿したり…
イラストレーターをその程度まで使えれば世界が広がるなぁ~と思っていました。

この本の『独習』というタイトルにまず惹かれて、表紙の雰囲気もすっきりしていて、手に取りました。
中を見て、勉強するだけでなく、いきなり「●●したい！」という時にも使いやすそうなので、思い切って購入！

結果は、大満足です♪
この本にして、本当によかった、心から思います。
わからない大抵のことはこれで済みます。
単語の意味も調べられますし、一般の人がイラストレーターを使いたいというレベルのことは多分ほとんど網羅されています。

ぜひぜひ！これでイラストレーターを使えるようになってくださいね♪

前半はトレーニングとして、動物園のパンフレットをまず作ってみる。
後半はツールや設定、使い方の基本が項目ごとに別れて調べられるようになっています。

細かい理屈や便宜よりも、体で慣れたり感覚で覚えたい私のような人には、初めての本としてはとても入りやすいものだと思います。
説明も非常に丁寧でわかりやすく、項目ごとにポイントが書かれています。
最後には練習問題も付いていて、この一冊でだいぶ自信がつくはずです。

ただ、あくまで初心者用なので、イラストレーターの機能を網羅している訳ではありません。
