彼は私が好きなのか？という問いにすっぱり、キッパリと答えてくれる本です。・・・女の人がこういう問いを抱いてしまうということは、「つまり、彼はそれほどあなたが好きではない」ということだと。

今まで、自分だって気付いていたのに、この本が言ってくれなかったら私は後数年は無駄に彼にエネルギーと時間を注ぎ続けていたと思います。万人に当てはまる訳ではないでしょうが（とても米国的だから）私には現状に終止符を打ってくれるきっかけをくれました。

アメリカのドラマ「SEX　AND　THE　CITY」の製作スタッフの
男性1名と女性1名によって書かれた恋愛バイブル。女性向け。

彼が、どこかに行こうと誘ってこない、電話してこない、結婚してくれない、
結婚している、虐待してくる、セックスしない、などなど13のテーマに
ついて、そんな時の彼の本心はこうだよ、と理由つきで語ってくれています。

質問者の女性と回答者（著者）の手紙形式な文章になっていて、
とても読みやすく、女性が考えがちな言い訳もしっかり載っていますが、
そんな言い訳や理由付けをしても、実際の彼の本心はこうだよ、と
納得いくように説明してくれています。

片思い、両思いにかかわらず、「彼」のことで悩む全ての女性にオススメ。

ワークブックもついているので、恋は盲目状態から抜け出て少し冷静になれます。

女性にとって、恋愛は生活に不可欠な要素。今気になってる彼の気持ちを知りたい・・・でも本人には聞きにくい・・・なんていう時、彼との関係に問題があるんだけどどうしてか分からない・・・なんていう時にこの本を読むと、目から鱗が落ちる（かもしれない）。
自分からあなたに電話してこないあの彼は脈なし、とかかなり酷なことも書いてあるけど、見込みのない彼に時間を無駄にするより自分の生活を充実させよう！という明るいアメリカ人的割切は好感が持てます。厳しい現実を突きつけてくるのだけど、その奥に、幸せをつかんでほしいという女性への愛が感じられるのがステキ。「本当に作者のいう通りにしてれば理想の彼がいつか現れるの？」という問いかけに対して「信じること、結局それにつきる」というのが私のお気に入りの箇所です。（引用間違っているかもしれません・・・）
最初日本語で読んで、英語でのニュアンスを感じたかったので原書を買いました。英語版はそんなに難しくないので英語を勉強したい人にもお勧めです。
