ヤングガンガン創刊後、真っ先に刊行された漫画の第2巻。それだけ編集部も期待しているのでしょう。

萌え方面の充実については、ネットで散々語り尽くされているので、今さら言うまでも無いでしょう。この作者は、画力はトップクラスだし、キャラは実に個性的で、シチュエーション作りも上手です。
さて、第1巻の内容は「もも子→考士」の空回りラブが中心でしたが、今巻は最強の妹系キャラ「巳屋本いろは」が登場。更に委員長も考士争奪戦に本格参戦と、一気にハーレム色を強めてきました。

一通り読み終わって笑ったり萌えたりした後に、今一つ物足りなさを感じました。何故だろう？‥‥と考えていたら、その答えが180pにありました。
【人物相関図】
もも子→考士
半蔵→いろは→考士
ヒカル→委員長→考士

というわけで気になったのが、上記のように「全ての人間関係が一方通行」である、という点です。
これでは、第1巻の「もも子→考士」のパターンの類似型を、延々とくり返す恐れがあります。
更に問題なのが、「もも子といろは」「半蔵と委員長」など、同一軸線上にないキャラ同士には、エピソードが発生しにくい、という事です。

比較対象として、例えば「スクールランブル」では、連載開始当初「天満→烏丸」という空回りラブ中心の話でしたが、これが余り面白くなくて、早々に「多種多様なキャラによる、複雑な人間模様」に路線変更し、大ヒットしました。
つまり、読者の「○○と△△が2人っきりになったら、どんな会話をするんだろう？」というような同人的妄想を、想像を裏切るような、あるいは凌駕するような形で表現して見せたから、ウケたのです。

「すもも」が今後、面白い人間模様を構築できるのか、それとも単純な一方通行に終始するのか、そこが勝負の分かれ目になる気がします。

　個人的に「すもも〜」ではこの巻がお気に入りですｖ
　いろはや半蔵、早苗も本格的に加わり、さらに話が濃くなっています。
　絵柄もさらに可愛くなって読みやすいですし、笑えます。

　ちょっとあざとめの演出もありますが、それすらギャグに切り替わりますし肝心の孝士は全く無関心なのも良い感じです。
　キャラのみんなも可愛くて憎めませんし。
　
　可愛い女の子が見たい人にも、一方通行気味な恋愛モノが読みたい人にもお勧めです。

一般的なラブコメと違った新たなる分野を切り開く新感覚ラブコメです。面白いの一言です。とうとう委員長がウマ仮面として登場します。刺客も登場してきてドタバタが繰り広げられます。著者の主人公を描く姿があるときは可愛くあるときはコミカルに描かれており非常に面白いです。マンガのテンポも良くて近年のラブコメとしては秀逸な作品です。是非、手にとってお読み頂きたい本です。
