著者について
1956年3月、熊本県水俣市生まれ。1977年2月、週刊少年ジャンプにて「恐るべき子供たち」でデビュー。同年4月、「8時半の決闘」で赤塚賞準入選。同年9月、週刊少年ジャンプにて「すすめ!!パイレーツ」連載開始。ギャグ漫画家として本格的にスタートをきる。以後「ひのまる劇場」「ストップ!!ひばりくん!」「エイジ」「寿五郎ショウ」「なんとかなるでショ!」「BOXERケン」などの作品を発表。1983年よりフリーになり、イラストレーターとしての活動も開始。1992年から5年間担当した「デニーズ」のメニューイラストをはじめとして、雑誌、広告、小説本の装丁、CDジャケット、アニメ映画のキャラクターデザイン等、幅広く手掛け現在に至っている。1992年には短編集「爆発ディナーショー」で、第38回文藝春秋漫画賞受賞。
