私が、この本を甥っ子に貸してあげたら、もう、夢中！甥っ子は２さいで、電車が大好き。何度も何度も、「もう１回、読んで。」攻撃でした（笑）。絵本の専門家のあいだでも、「乗り物絵本なら、山本忠敬さん」と聞きます。自身の経験からも、世間の評価からも、とてもお勧めの１冊です。

特急・急行が少なくなってきていますが、実家への帰省で、新幹線だけでは着かないため、次々列車を乗継をする人も今もいると思います。私もそんな一人ですが、ついつい、帰省時の自分と重ねてしまう程、窓から見える情景が広がっています。
そう！この景色！目的駅に着いた時、孫を待つ姿も同じ！同じ！
行く側以外にも待つ側もさりげなく書いているので、実家への帰省前に読んでも楽しいかと思います。

鉄道マニアの父の影響でやっぱり鉄道が好きになるであろう男の子にプレゼントするため購入しました。ついでというわけではありませんが、やっぱり鉄道が好きなうちの子供にも購入し、計２冊購入しました。新幹線が発達し、在来線の特急や急行がどんどん廃止になっていっている今日この頃、古き良き日本の鉄道風景を伝えるうえで、非常に良い本だと思います。車両の型式や、最後の駅で車掌さんが持っている輪っかは何かなど、子供に教えてあげたい・語り合いたいネタでいっぱいです。あと、うちのおじいちゃんは元車掌さんなので、今度おじいちゃんのうちに行くときは持っていって、本物の「しゅっぱつしんこう！」を聞いてみたいと思います。
