　初めて「たまを聞いてみようかな？」という人には「さんだる」「ひるね」そしてこの「きゃべつ」から入ってみるといいと思います。
　後期のたまに比べて音もアナログで、いい意味でクセも少なく初めての方にも聞きやすいです。
　特にフォーク好きの人にとっては必聴です。
　アコギでカバーしてみたくなってくると思います。
　　やさしい毒のような「きみしかいない」
　　壮大な世界観の「満月小唄」
　　ノスタルジックな「星を食べる」
　　狂気と日常の狭間を感じさせる「こわれた」などはアングラ劇のような心地よい異世界感を残してくれるでしょう。

　キャベツというアルバムを一言で言うなら、”たま”という個性むき出しの金魚蜂の中で、適度なエサ（名声）と共に、メンバー四人それぞれが相手のシッポを気にしないで共存できた、彼らの音楽性の最終避難場所だったと言うことができるのではないだろうか。”キャベツ”の中の楽曲は、それまでの”たま”のアルバムである、サンダルや、ひるねなどに見られるメランコリーともノスタルジーとも形容できないメロディーを土台にして、その上でそれぞれが好きなダンスを踊っているといった感じが色濃く出ている。いや、踊っているのではなく、踊りまくっているのだろう。この過程で、残念ながら踊り疲れてしまった者も否定できないが、僕個人としては、たまがかろうじてポピュラリティーを残していた最後のアルバムであると思っています。”きみしかいない”などは、金を惜しんで、手間を惜しむことなく作ったＢ級映画のサプライズ・エンディングを見た後の感動に例えることができるのではないか。”満月小唄”にしてみてもハッピー・エンドばかりのフランス映画を観た後のように悲しげである。とりわけ、たまファンの僕としては、”おやすみいのしし”の大学生の学芸会のような雰囲気が最高です。最後に、僕からのメッセージです。右手と左手に腕時計をはめて待ち合わせをして遊ぶと危険です。かろうじて日々の生活を何とか乗り切っている人は止めて下さい。
