Tomihiro Hoshino was interested in gymnastics since he was young. He liked to play "rolling" with his friends on a hillside of paddy field. After he graduated from Gunma University, he became physical education teacher in Kuragano Junior High School. Two months later he got accident when he did somersault. He broke his neck and became paralyzed from the neck down at the age of 24. His live was completely shattered by the accident. But he never gave up, he learnt to write by his mouth. The support of people around him has strengthened him especially his mother. He met his wife at the same hospital where he got treatment. Step by step he learnt to draw flowers and write poems. He said “I was physically handicapped but I was not unhappy nor did I dislike myself”.
