ページを開いて思わず吹き出した。市井の人々が面白可笑しく描かれており、突っ込みどころ満載なのですが、不思議と嫌な印象を受けなかったのは、彼らが主人公として生き生きとしているからではないか。作者に対して賛否両論あるが、文章なしの写真だけでこれだけ見せるのは並大抵の感性ではないと思う。我々素人は「こんなもん誰でも撮れるわ」などと思ってはいけない。今後作風が変わっても（同様のネタだけではいつまでも引っ張れないんだろうから）、この感性は忘れないで欲しい。

写真集としての出来はよいと思うし、個々の作品についても観るべき部分はある。
写真集としては悪くないし、買って損はないと思う。

ただ、権威ある賞をとったことの是非については、いささかなんともいえないところはある。率直に言って、そこまでかなという気持ちも無くはない。また、賞の権威にとらわれすぎていて、作品としての実態を見失っているかもしれない。
毎年受賞作を選んでいることだし、全体としてその年はそういう傾向にあったと解釈するほか無いだろう。

むしろ、問題は作家の側にある。

この作風でこの先もやっていくのかどうか？
この作風で「次回作もこのぐらい興味深い写真集になりえるのか」どうか？

その点は、少なくともこの写真集からなにひとつ見えてこなかった。
もちろん、そんなことを写真集で語る必要もないのだろうけど…

そういうのは評価じゃないと思います。

決して悪いとは思いませんが、本当に良いものなのかは、微妙ではないかなと思います。
確かに、分りやすい写真が実は深いという見方には一定のもっともらしさがありますが、分りやすい作品をそうやって「実は深い｣といってほめることは、本当に誰でもたやすく出来ることです。

なにが深いのかを説明しない場合は、特にそうですね。

むしろ、分りやすいと考えられている日常の風景をテーマにしながら、分りやすそうだけど実は深そうと思わせるあざとさが気になりました。

そういうあざとさが無ければ、本当に分りやすいだけの日常写真のような作品の中に、そうではない新たな発見が隠されている奥ゆかしさがあれば、より多くの人がもっと素直に良い評価を下せたと思うし、権威ある賞を受けてもこのような反感をもたれなかったのではないかと思います。
